Aaron (#5 for Eau Claire) made the Northern League All-Star team as a shortstop, and was named Rookie of the Year by the league. Aaron was promoted to Jacksonville in 1953, and finally moved up to the Braves in ’54 after they had shifted to Milwaukee.

But it was all straight baseball once they became a member of the Negro American League in 1943, and in 1952 they were joined by a young slugger named Henry Aaron (#5). The Clowns survived as a touring team for decades after the demise of Negro leagues baseball.
